Assessments
Psychological and psychoeducational assessments are specialized evaluations of academic, learning, attentional, behavioural and social/emotional challenges that children and adolescents may be experiencing at school, at home and in their communities.
An assessment provides insight and clarity about presenting issues and it usually concludes with comprehensive and practical recommendations. As a Registered Psychologist, I am permitted to provide formal diagnoses, where applicable.
Reassessments for the purpose of maintaining and updating school accommodation requests are also available.

My scope of practice can assess for:
Other concerns that may lead to an assessment include:

I provide short- and long-term individualized psychotherapy tailored to the unique developmental and clinical needs of children and adolescents. There is no one-size-fits-all model; I believe “talk therapy” is most effective when grounded in science and delivered with a balance of professionalism, warmth, and curiosity. Empathy, acceptance, collaboration and some humor help young clients feel comfortable engaging in a therapeutic process that builds self-awareness and confidence and promotes openness to new ideas and skills.
Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches
I draw from a variety of proven therapeutic models based on each young person’s needs:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Helps clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, manage related emotions and behaviors, and build healthy coping strategies. - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Focuses on psychological flexibility, helping clients accept uncomfortable feelings while taking actions aligned with their core values. - Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills
Teaches practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. - Play Therapy
Ideal for younger children who express themselves and process emotions more naturally through play rather than traditional talk therapy.
What We Can Work on Together
Individual psychotherapy is highly effective for treating specific clinical diagnoses. It is also an impactful process to support youngsters through life transitions, stressful events and personal challenges.
- Clinical Issues
Anxiety, Depression, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). - Life Transitions & Stressful Events
Navigating family changes (such as illness or living in two homes), school frustration and poor fits, friendship conflicts, and major milestones (like leaving home for overnight camp or university). - Personal Growth
Processing confusing feelings or sensitive issues, cultivating healthy relationships, enhancing communication skills, developing emotional resilience, building social skills, and gaining self-confidence.
Parent Involvement: While the child or adolescent is always the primary focus of individual sessions, parent involvement is thoughtfully considered on a case-by-case basis with your child’s best interest in mind.

Through parent consultation, I offer collaborative, supportive, and non-judgmental sessions to help you navigate your parenting concerns. Together, we work to strengthen parent-child relationships by broadening your understanding of your child’s unique challenges and developing practical, evidence-based strategies.
Whether you are facing new or longstanding issues, the ultimate goal is to help you acquire new perspective and refine the tools you need to parent with confidence and skill.
